Ace Cafe, Triumph Day, 14th of June 2015

To those that made it last year and all those that would like to give it a try (or those that kicked themselves for missing it last year!), we have a date for 2015  :046:

For those that would like to join us, we'll be looking to make a start for breakfast at The Ace (early is always the best time to be there) and then organising another ride for a good lunch stop and a suitable destination for the afternoon.

With people coming from so far, we'll be looking to organise an over-nighter again.

29/4/15 UPDATE: Overnight stop for Saturday / Sunday night organised:

    https://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/449/Frimley-hotel
Currently, they are only £36 a room (Sat) & £30 per room (Sun), but please book quickly as this WILL go up!, has good parking and on site food  :001:

7/5/15 UPDATE: Route and venues added....

We will plan to leave from our meeting location on the border of Devon/Cornwall around 09:00 on the Saturday

The outline plan has been inspired by a recent article in MCN on TE Laurence. Laurence of Arabia.
    http://goo.gl/3sDg3P

The plan is to visit Moreton Tea Rooms which has a small exhibition. The church & final resting place. The church apparently has unique crystal windows installed on rebuilding after being destroyed by a German bomber in WW2.

We will continue through the local area with some hopefully good A roads and drop in to Clouds Hill his retreat.
    http://goo.gl/bh2Ccd

The main attraction will be a visit to the most excellent Bovington Tank Museum.
    http://www.tankmuseum.org/home

At some point we will take on fuel for the riders

The trip will then continue via A roads across the New Forest area, Winchester, Farnam to Frimley.

The following morning we will leave Frimley to arrive at the Ace for Breakfast. In the afternoon a trip over to High Beach café.

The link below is to a shared google drive folder with some Tyre route files.

If anybody would like to join mid route or would like us to detour for a meeting point to join up lease let me know and I'll factor it in. :305:

    Triumphs m/c’s only since 1995.
Sprint 900, Daytona 1200SE, Tiger 1200, 5 x Trophy 1200. Oh and a Range Rover. if it wasn’t built at Hinckley or Solihull, it doesn’t count 😁

Interest registered!  As long as you can put up with my gripes about my seat and stopping for restore circulation  :008:  Will commit fully nearer the time (new job and will be on holiday at some point in august).

Not sure if I can get down on the 14th June but always nice to visit the Ace Cafe.

When I had a  Sprint ST1050 we visited the Ace Cafe on the way back from my first bike trip abroad in June 2013.

Unfortunately the Sprint was written off following a spill on diesel whilst touring Scotland in September 2014.

As a result I now have the 2012 TEx in sapphire blue........... :046:

    Enjoy and ride safe...
Sapphire Blue TEx, fog lights, engine bars, hand guards, OEM Triumph panniers / topbox, Touring screen, Pyramid Shock Shield & fender extender, Triumph Sat Nav Mount with lockable TomTom Rider V, Beowulf Stainless powder coated radiator guard, SW Motech bar risers, SW Motech Upper Bars, Fuel oval carbon Diablo end can, Denali Soundbomb.....

How long you down for? Bringing the bike? John and my stomping ground after all. We could have a Cornish ride, even if just an evening jaunt somewhere.
