My Jack Russell Jimmy dearly loves his Ural.

Well, that ends that thought. I love the concept, but sounds like a bit of an underpowered pig. Perhaps one day they'll put a 1200 motor in it.  :007:

I have a friend in Dallas that has a Ural Patrol.  It blew up on him after 3000 miles while his wife was in the hack in East Texas.  He got a new engine installed under warranty but his dog rides in the hack now instead of his wife.

He tried to keep up with me on Arkansas fire roads a year ago...hilarious at best.  I got allot of time to rest while waiting for him...constantly.

They're a novelty as bikes go.
They are unsafe after 60mph, only get 35mpg and are a Russian, reverse engineered BMW.  1940 technology at 2015 price...ala HD.  :038:
Speed has never killed anyone.  It's becoming suddenly stationary that kills you.

Little bit unfair to HD! I don't like them myself, but they have a fairly modern engine design (80s to 90s) other than that nightmarish inlet tract. Self-adjusting valves would be a nice feature to add to most bikes.

I have a BMW R90 in mine since 24,000 km.  Remember all of the parts are stressed to the absolute max with the original engine.
Mine will now hang in there at 75 mph but it is not fun at that speed and beats the $hit out of you.
Also brakes are marginal and suspension is 1939 era.....
It is really fun in the 40 to 50 mph range.
