How to remove lock barrel - the definitive guide?
« on: September 26, 2015, 12:45:14 PM »
Hi All,

I've seen a lot of posts regarding lock barrels, with mixed results. This is one way I've found that works, I know that some chaps have made a removal tool from a 2mm hex key, and I understand that removal tools are available - do a search for Zadi lock removal tool.

Incidentally, my local dealer swears that the locks cannot be removed, he tells me that they have destroyed top boxes to do so.........

I've done the video in 3 parts cos I'm not a video guru, and put some pics to show the tool in more detail - apologies for the quality in pt2!! However if anyone wants to travel to Portsmouth for a looksee or to have barrels removed, then pop in and I can do you a cuppa as well!!

Great work & good to see it clearly explained for the doubters out there.  :028:

The Dropbox video links for Pt1 & Pt3 are the same though, so no video yet for Pt3.

Fantastic. If the Zadi lock barrel removal tool works - it's a £10.

:0461: These videos are the clearest explanation of the way to do it - better than any written description I've read.
