Icy here... :)
« on: October 10, 2015, 01:46:37 AM »
Hi gang,

Icy here, pleased to meet you all :) You can also find me in advriders, triumph rat and moa with approximately the same handle (Icy_)

My old bike (BB) was a 2013 TEX, purchased on January 2013 and after putting 41K miles on it, I turned it in to Westchester Triumph (the best Triumph dealer in North East) and got this 2014 TEX XC - so far no problems; and also I had no problems with the previous TEX either (go figure) The new bike (BBX) is about a month old now and is at 2700 miles - yeah, I couldn't ride a lot this past month.

I ride dirt, trails, pavement whatever I feel like on the bike. I ride year around, snow, rain, sun - I pretty much don't care. All my gear is BMW (LoL) and I have ridden GS1200, GS650, F700GS, F800GS and I can say that TEX is where my heart is and TEX is what I ride and what I would buy again and again and again. Having said that Triumph USA has a lot of issues with their dealers here in North East and I have a hefty and lengthy rap sheet at the after sales support team's systems. By the way, Triumph After Sales Support is one of the best I had ever had to deal with, that is my personal experience with them; they rock. The dealers suck! And yes, I have communicated this to a Triumph exec as well - don't expect much though.

The longest trip I did was to Labrador City this past summer, three of us did the clocl-wise but my wife crashed her bike 70 miles from Lab City so we had to come back.

More details and stuff from other sites about me and my partner in life (no not the bike) and then the bike.

I do love the old ones though. This is one miracle bike - single cylinder with a drive-shaft from 1965; James from TT owns this baby and we make sure she stays in tip top shape every now and then

Before I "retired" this was my "remote office", no seriously

I would get a phone call from the office and I would pull over to the side of the road and work. Please do pay attention to the placement of the tablet/laptop: NOT on the road side, but on the safe side. You don't want to bend over, your butt sticking out towards where vehicles play tag on your ass!

I am an silun do bup (iaido) instructor,

I do photography: https://www.flickr.com/photos/soksa/...57628267085485

I'm also the president of Brooklyn Easy Riders Club, an AMA chartered RC that I founded in 2012. We can be found in meetup.com

Phew, that should cover it. I left a few hobbies out though. I am also a student pilot, a mediocre guitar player (lead guitar, electric) an avid reader & researcher and I am a Brain Jockey.
