Check your screen fixings!!!
« on: April 28, 2012, 04:55:50 PM »
On the ride today noticed that the screen began to wobble unhealthily. Pulled up and found that the two fixings on the lower part had worked loose and I was extremely lucky to not a) lose the bolts & b) not put stress breaks in the top fixing holes on the screen.

The allen bolts that go through the screen go into rubber grommit type fixings. I will now add some 5mm nylocks on the back of these!

So check your fixings chaps :)

Took the screen off yesterday zip tying my Garmin wires.  Didn't notice that mine were loose at the time.  The screen is very easy to remove.

The dealer has a long list of pre-road going checks, including all fixings.
The listed items have to be checked and noted!
I installed the handguards myself and gave the bolts a little bit of Loctite. No loose bolts until now, not even the clutchcover (remember the Tiger 1050... :033:).
