It is clear also that some proprietary cleaners are almost as corrosive as salted roads. One or two motorcycle manufacturers have stopped allowing warranty on bikes that have been cleaned with Muc Off or its equivalent. I use it but diluted, and always rinse very thoroughly after use.

I use Dirty Bike from the pound shops and have been for years. Never experienced this though on previous bikes.

So has anyone ever asked Muc off (and the like) to comment on the use of their products? If Muc off is that bad couldn't we sue them?!! My local dealer was of the this opinion of Muc off - that it shouldn't be used. My bike is badly corroded but I do rinse off the crap almost every day in the winter and clean it very regularly.

Update. Prompt email response from Triumph. They said to take it to my dealer for them to take pics and send with a warranty form to see if there's anything they can do.

Took the bike to Bevans today and they took pics and will submit a warranty claim to see if there's anything Triumph will do.

Here's a few pics I took today.

I see that you are not right on the coast, but do you get salt spray from the channel blowing inland during storms?
