Home needed for orphan connector
« on: August 17, 2017, 08:51:18 PM »
Was checking over the bike this week (2015 XC) and I saw this connector loosely hanging down. It’s between the rear suspension and the engine case (hanging down underneath the battery box area). Never noticed it before …and puzzled that it doesn’t have a protective cap fitted. Anybody got any idea? Where it should be stowed etc? Just a bit concerned that its hanging there without a cap fitted. Asked my Triumph dealer and they don’t know…! Cheers

There are all sorts of extra plugs. Triumph aren't going to make different harnesses for all the models/Countries and their accessories, so there's all sorts of plugs for Evap/heated grips/heated seats etc which may or may not be used. I figure if it's not plugged in I can safely ignore it  :002:

Looks like it could be the same connector as in these old threads...

...in which case supernac's comment is most likely the correct answer.

hi,  has anyone worked out plug type/part number for other half of that plug? just to keep out all the dirt. and it seems there should be some kind of cover, its kind of exposed with brake light wires running besides.

I use customized plug cover-it's called electrical tape. You could also put a smear of electrical grease before you stick tape on it
