All the bikes I have had MOTs carried out at various places all the mechanics  looked at the front wheel in relation to back wheel an obvious out of wheel alignment would be a MOT failure. (So they tell me)

Yea sorry i was a bit miss leading in my post...they check with a visual check but i have never witnessed any mechanical appliance used in any MOT inspection and my very close friend who is a MOT inspector says unless he see,s something amiss he will visual check...if he thinks something is not right then he has a pair of aluminum square poles to then check closer and frame damage being the main culprit..

To each his own. The 17" front rim will lower the front end and change the steering geometry. But then, if the front wheel spends most of its time in the air, you probably don't care...  :038:

Being almost 60 years of age and riding since i was 12 i find that perception of me a bit puzzling  :187: now sit at the back and keep your hand on your head for the rest of the lesson :150:

What else would you be doing with a "supermoto fantastico" besides wheelies??

2015 trophy rim with a 180 rear with no spaces or washers :164: and a 17" front wheel and discs from a 2009 street triple with the explorer ABS ring fitted..new bush kit and seals on the fork legs, new seals in calipers and fresh paint. I just done the wheels with a rattle can satin black untill i find a painter good enough to paint the wheels in the OEM grey just to confuse onlookers :001:...reports are the bike rides perfect with a much faster turn in running the 17" front..all in all the bike now feels much more planted..she is now put away till the spring and better weather..

I can't for the life of me understand why (other than, because you can) but I will say that from your explanation and photos, it does seem to be well thought through and executed.  :152: Out of curiosity, did you do the machining yourself?

Yes buddy i do everything myself :016:...I love my Triumph and i also love the BMW S1000xr and the Multistrada Ducati but i cant have 3 so i have kind of pulled a little bit off the other two and kept the Triumph..Plus the TV is not worth watching each night so its workshop time :002:

I was a bit sceptical about the OP's setup with a huge offset and still needing to grind the swing arm for clearance, it didn't sound like a terribly well engineered solution to me. Yours sounds like a much more professional and dare I say safe job :001: + it's all fully reversible if for some reason you want/need to.
