New pants
« on: October 08, 2017, 07:31:28 PM »
So my rain pants are finally now waterproof anymore. They’ve been decorated a number of times.  So I think it’s time for an upgrade.
I ride in the Pacific Northwest, waterproof is a must. Winter is coming, so a little insulation is good. I’m looking for an over pant.

I hike I lik the Areostich AD1 gear, it’s way too expensive for me.

So what are you all wearing for winter pants?

Holy crap! Autocorrect is a beast.

To clarify, my current pants have been retreated multiple times. I like the Aerostich, but can’t afford it.

I use 2 over-trousers as we call them.

The first is a simple nylon overtrouser used in summer and autumn. The sort of thing you can get for a tenner on Ebay - current ones are Buffalo branded. They have ankle to knee zips to get over boots. I tend to have to replace them every 4 or 5 years.

For winter commutes I use a pair of Weise padded overtrousers. These keep me snug as a bug on cold mornings and dry on wet ones.

For longer trips I will be full dressed in a Rukka suit using heated clothing underneath to keep me warm.
