I have owned two 2012's from new. The first was purchased mid 2012 and was replaced by a late 2012 model in april 2013. I still own it with about 54,000 kms and am still active on here.

I bought mine in February 2014. 28000 miles on the clock now. Used all year round but I do not use it for work so I can pick my days but I do go out on wet roads in winter when I feel the need. The only corrosion is some marking on the exhaust. No issues with it at all since new. Still find it comfortable and enjoyable and have not seriously thought about changing it. I am fortunate enough to also have a Yamaha Xsr900 as well for the last year which complements the Explorer well for shorter local - and fun - rides.

A 2015 here, still amazes me with how quickly and smoothly it goes! :305:

Yessir.  Purchased in Sep 2013.  Paid it off last month.  The dealer knows this, however...  Nonetheless, little chance of trading it.  28k miles, just did a Hyperpro suspension update, and there would have to be a hell of an incentive to get me to cough up what Triumph wants for a new one.

I took delivery of my '12 gen1 Launch Model on May 5, 2012. I presently have 107,456 miles (172,933 km) and have never regretted the purchase. I have had the cylinder head replaced under warranty and had the final drive replaced (seal failed). Also had drive shaft universal joint fail at just past 100,00 miles and finally the ignition switch wiring break at 102,000 miles. Both fixed under the extended warranty.

The bike still is a wonderful ride and no plans to replace it.

I collected my second 1st gen tex on the 2nd March 2015 and still love it. Got a good deal upgrading to heated seat and grips that my 2013 didn't have.

Nitron R1 shock and revalved front suspension done a year ago and now the new model although having a far better clutch and slick gearbox is really not that much better than mine. Just turned 20000 miles so good for a lot more.

AS the OP, I think I will step in here ...

I am really happy with how this thread is progressing, and it really great to see how the respondents are still as pleased with their Explorers as I am with mine.  Although I guess it stands to reason that relatively long term owners are happy with their bikes.

I'm happy to see names I haven't seen in a while.  Hopefully, a few more will pop in.

I still scan this forum pretty regularly, but I don't post as much as I did. (I was never a prolific poster anyway.)  I try to help with info when I can, but most times, someone else has gotten there first and said what I would have.  And more and more questions seem to be about Gen2 and now even 3, so I don't have much to offer anyway.

I still own my 2012 model TEX, which was ordered in Dec.of 2011 and was picked in May of 2012.  My dealer told me mine was the first one ordered in Iowa. It's the finest motorcycle I've owned in the nearly 50 years I've been buying bikes. :028:
