My little dirt bike
« on: June 28, 2018, 09:45:48 AM »
I simply couldn't exert any more energy picking up the TEx when I would drop it in the sand so I went out and bought a more proper dirt bike.  I still have the TEx and wouldn't get rid of her for a hundred other bikes but I'm sure having fun on this little Honda CRF250L.

Here's a far too long video of me testing out some new Motoz tires I put on the 250.  They make a tire which looks promising for the TEx and will likely try them out after burning through the Pirellis I have on there now.

Ride safe, and ride often!

Nice ride.  The 250 seems to have enough jam to do the job in sand.
Is the top speed about 70 mph?

In stock form with the 50-50 tires and 14/40 gearing, it’ll do about 83 max. With my aggressive MX type tires and 13/42 gearing then yes, the max is about 70-75. It’s a great little bike and only about 300 pounds. I’m quite happy with it.

I also have one of these little bikes.  Absolutely brilliant trail bike which replaced my former KTM 690. Much more user friendly for me and gives away very little to the more powerful bike at the level of trail riding that I indulge in. These bikes are seriously under estimated. While I am aware that it will soon have a bigger brother in the CRF 450 L , I have decided that the 250 is sufficient for my needs.

I have a Yamaha XT250 to complement the Tiger.  They are a great pair for the kind of riding I like to do.  I never understood having more than one motorcycle until I did it!
