Couple of Gen 1 / Gen 2 bits for sale
« on: July 30, 2018, 11:22:23 PM »
With the arrival of my Gen 2 XCa, I have some surplus bits that may help someone out.
1. Genuine heated rider seat - standard. Perfect condition, complete with loom and switch ready to plug and play. This will fit Gen 1 or 2 'cos I've tried it. If you don't have a heated seat, trust me, they're lush. If you plan on riding across the Moab then I probably wouldn't bother. Ok so these are still silly money from some sources but I know that they are available out there for just under £100 therefore I'm looking for £65. I'd rather you collected but if I have to send it via My Hermes then I'd have to get it boxed, weighed and let you know what that came to.

Second item is a pair of Motech upper crash bars. These will only fit a Gen 1 because of the Plastic fairing on the new model. Which not to state the obvious is why I am selling them. The bags are NOT included in the sale. I just forgot to take them off. They will go onto any new bars that I fit. There's been much ado about fitting these. Frankly, I think it's easy. Didn't take me long at all. It comes with all the bolts. If you want them, again I'd rather they were collected, but as an incentive, if you rock up on your bike, I'll fit them. Being really honest, they wouldn't suffer for an attack with a rattle can of gloss black. If you like, you could have them blasted and powder coated. I'd suggest you just buy some news ones in that case. So if you are looking to protect your adventure bike from those inevitable droppsies, these are the biz. And only £80 Plus P&P again if really necessary.

Last item is a set of almost new genuine Triumph pannier racks. If anyone wants these I'll be stunned. But you never know. If you have Givi racks but Triumph panniers then you'll know that the two aren't compatible. But you can swap the top mounts over from these to the Givi ones to make them fit. There was a recent post on this.  If you like these then £25 and they're yours. Plus P&P

All items are in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, East Midlands. Yes that is a real place.

Any genuine enquiries will be treated by time stamp order whether PM or open thread. Don't all rush for the pannier racks will you...

It's yours! Yes I am around; on and off. I have to be at the Triumph dealer in Chesterfield at 14.20 which would make a nice easy meeting place. But before that I'm probably going to the main Post office in Sheffield (Near Ponds Forge / Station) so maybe we could hook up there and save you some miles. That might be too early for you though.  I have to get there, use the Post Office then get back to Triumph for 14.20

Hi, I'll be able to make CMC around 2.30 ish, depending on when I get away from Derby. I assume this is the Clay Cross, motorbike stealers site?

No it's the Triumph dealer not CMC. But, I am only 3 miles from CMC so rather than go through town to the main dealer, I could leave it with the current wife so you don't have to detour. It would have been good to meet you but there's no point going round the houses unless you want to drop into Chesterfield Triumph and get home that way. I have to be at the dealer by 20 past 2 to have my bike plugged in. If you were here a touch earlier then I'd still be here.

A planet sized apology to SmalltownRat who came and picked up the heated seat today. It appears that whilst the seat does indeed fit Gen 1 and 2, the plugs are different. Now that is what I'd call unnecessary. I suspect if we had them side to side, the flying connector lead between the bike and the saddle share one similar plug but the one on the bike has been changed. In theory, I'd guess that buying the lead alone would cure this.

So that means the seat is still available but will only fit a Gen 1 unless you want to get busy with a soldering iron. This would still leave a plug in the loom to be able to disconnect the seat during maintenance etc.

One again apols to my Yorkshire chum.

They're made for the Motech bars, but I'm not sure if they're made by Motech themselves. Someone else was selling some of these at the same time as I advertised the bars and posted a link. Have a quick look at contemporary threads. They're very handy for putting things like rain over gloves in.

I would be interested in the panniers racks. Well actually only the grey top attachments bits.

I am happy to pay the price you ask for the whole rack but would you be able to take them off and post to me
