Leaving Saturday for a trip to Croatia, has anyone had any experience with Bosnia ? Just curious to see if it’s worth a bimble of the border

Was there in 97/98. It was a bit rough then. Lovely country would love to go back to see it.

Bear in mind it's not EU, so you'll likely need to sort additional insurance and breakdown cover. You may well need a green card too.

Very good point , not heard of any problems further down Croatia where the Bosnia cuts out towards the sea

In terms of trouble and reward, the old man went through Bosnia earlier this year on his bike, alone, at the ripe old age of 77. No bother and he said it was beautiful.

What is your route? Will you blat the autoroutes and get there quick or take a more interesting road?

I was considering a trip to Greece, which might have taken in Croatia. Son as been there are says its beautiful.

The alternative is down through italy and over on a ferry.

Blast on motorways to Germany , then  romantic route , maybe Dachau, fussen , across to Grossglockner , villach, couple of Slovenian passes , down to plitvice lakes ( not sure how far down into Croatia, depends on time ) then returning via coast road to Venice up to Dolomites then west into Swiss for more passes then work my way through France and back up

I try to stay off motorways as much as possible. And don’t get Austrian and Swiss vignettes . Those countries are wasted on autoroutes

Take your time to pass the borders. Avoid the Plitvice lakes. Beautiful but sooo touristic.

I have gpx tracks, if you like?
