That was pretty cool. Sure there wasn't a rider in a green-screen jumpsuit they digitally removed? :001:

Looks like it ran the stop sign at 00:46 though...

Might be nice on a long tour.  Just put your feet up and enjoy the scenery. Are we there yet?

First I thought, oh  :062: but then I was like  :232: as soon as I saw the stop sign.
I upgraded from a T800 to a TEX and my 120 km a day commute has never been more enjoyable.

So now, those same (read: inept, too busy texting, putting on makeup, etc.) people who have no business being behind the steering wheel of a car, might be piloting the motorcycle riding near you.    :157:

Great.    Just great.     :232:

One more step forward to a less human future.

What bothers me is that more and more of those technological demos are making their way to the general public, letting them (and stoopid politicians) believe that those machines can actually drive/ride.
This is not the case.

Even the dumbest of cagers has a brain, allowing him to adapt to the unexpected.
Current systems are proving time and again that they just can't.
AI is but a marketing gimmick for now. Simple spectacular applications do the trick (Hey Siri!), but anything beyond that is nothing but the road to disaster.

I have been happy to see some innovations such as ABS, DCT, EFI, CC, not sure about TC. However this one would be a total no for me.

Did I see a kickstand deploy on the right hand side?
Looks like something that will make its way into a James Bond movie. Like whistling for you horse to save you from quicksand ;)

As a former (multiple) BMW bike owner, they're not the most reliable of bikes at the best of times (they keep on fooling punters in through the doors though...which is fine until the warranty period is up), so would I trust them with this gimmickry?  Not on your Nelly.  Besides not working well (self piloting taxi crashes anyone?), it will go wrong...just a question of when, and not "if".

Same here.    I love the technology that keeps me more safe and comfortable, and my bike running at top performance/efficiency.

I absolutely understand self-driving big rig trucks, that can move goods 24 hours/day, without having to take mandatory sleep breaks for the driver.    Self-driving taxis that can move people around congested metropolises.

But, I too don't understand the "why" of a self-riding motorcycle?
