10k Service
« on: September 23, 2018, 10:19:39 PM »
Lads, bike is over the 10k. I have done engine oil, shaft oil and brake pads. Does anyone have the 10k service list so I can see if I can do the rest myself. Cheers

Cheers pug, the only thing I think I will struggle with is the valve clearance. Looks like will have to go to a garage. Shame muddy waters was still not taking bookings.

I do some servicing work if anyone is within reach of Bath. Happy to do part of the work if you want to do your own oil & filters.

Marks manual is a handy buy - did my own valve check last Xmas with its help and you tube. I've been servicing my own bikes for 30 odd years so think I'm reasonably competent - that said the valve job is n't really difficult - just time consuming with al lthe parts that need removing and the lack of room to work on. If your not confident get someone to do it - but its not that bad.  :002:

Yup-totally agree.  :001: When I did my 10000 mile service it still said do the valve check (now 20k as stated above) but there were still a few shims needed

I have Dave, muddy sump doing my 10k, but av done 12k lol on the 12th. I have done oil and oil filter change and brake pads 3k past. I like to keep fresh oil in my bikes. I service my Harley myself, but that’s a bit easy to service. If I had confidence with checking valves and doing shims I would do it but that’s a big nooo. Lol
