Strange sound on turning on key.
« on: October 10, 2018, 06:25:02 PM »
Just returned from an attempt to get to Pikes Peak in Colorado. Too much rain snow and cold weather, read iced roads. When I turned on my key, not starting the bike, I got a sound like a sqeeky leaking vacuum, I assumed that it was the fuel pump. But it did not stop. My other fuel injected bike builds pressure and stops. This one did not. Don't remember hearing this sound before. Any imput. :084:

If the sound changed frequency when you moved the throttle then it's the throttle stepper motor and it's quite normal. You'll tend to hear it more clearly when ambient noise is low.
