Next gen TFT
« on: November 06, 2018, 04:56:23 PM »
So, was looking at the new 1200 Scrambler video and saw the updated TFT it's coming with.  It's nav, go-pro and phone compatible.  In the video they also show what appears to be our version (T12) on there.  I wonder if our 2018 screen will be update-able to these function.

You're right, I know, but Triumph had to know these software updates were in the pipeline.  Why not let the current TFT be upgrade-able.

They don't backward upgrade, so whilst you may like the TFT options on the scrambler, there is absolutely no way that Triumph will put out an option for backward compatible.

They won't do options for upgrading XRX's to have more options on the riding modes or for Hill Hold (and I've asked them about that sort of thing already), and literally they are not interested in "electronic options"

Nope -I'll bet that  if anything these options will only be available on the Gen-4 if and when it's ever released.

Triumph may have no plans to do it, but it could be a good business for them and their dealers.
Cheers, Ian

There is an interesting thread on the 800 forum regarding possible TFT upgrade:
