:0461: The Tex was never intended to be a sportsbike and there are very few places where anyone can use it's top speed without endangering their licence or life.....unless they have  access to suitable places and suitable skills like Kevin Carmichael had in the 2013 promo video (on a sandy beach 140mph shown on the dash).

It's like the way Rolls Royce never published their car engines power = they just said it was "adequate"..........and that's how I feel about the Tex's top speed.

There was a time when such aspects of a motorcycle were important to me. I have well gotten over it.  :001:

That’s because just about anything approaching 900 CC’s+ today is flat out fast.
You got over it because you can count on it, if that makes sense ;-)

These days doing the ton is like flicking on a light switch.

My 2017 seems to be limited to an indicated 130 (125 on the GPS) in 5th or 6th gear.

I only hit that once, but now that I know the limit is there, I don't like it.

I don't need or really want to ride that fast.

I enjoy the accelleration morethan the speed, and the TEX has that in spades.  I hit the ton a couple of times briefly on most rides.

Perhaps we should take a poll. All those road hooligans who didn't survive, please raise your hands...

Thought so.

let's see, a thousand pounds of bike and rider traveling at 135 mph, do we have any physicist riders on the forum to calculate the kinetic energy of such an object. :084:
