Sorry, but I fail to see the benefit of having an obscure alert tens of kilometers after you take off.
Either the vehicle lets you go without your key in range, or it doesn't. Being stuck in the middle doesn't sound like a beneficial use case to me.

I've never had the issue after tens of kilometers I've had it displayed at the point of setting off !!!

Mine tells me it is out of range quite often middle of ride, 10's or 100's of km away from the start point. I find it quite over sensitive to the range, i.e. tankbag considered out of range on many an occasion mid ride. I still think the keyless ignition is the stupidest thing on this bike, and I like techno gadgets!

I've also had fob out of range and fob battery low errors at various times, which clear themselves.
One day the error is going to be real, and I'll be in trouble.

Nope.
My error happened on a usual steady (CC) ride at night, after 50 km. My fob ALWAYS lives in my jacket lower left pocket.
This is what prompted me to suspect yet another software glitch.

And like kenw just wrote: "one of these days..."

Just an update on this - get my bike back tomorrow after 3 weeks.. Triumph have come back with it being a software bug. They're saying when the ECM detects a voltage drop it's logging errors although they're are not true errors. Believe they’re are looking at a software update in the new year. Worth noting if you’re getting any strange DTC’s as mine logged ABS, TSAS, Immobilizer and tilt sensor faults.
They gave given me a pretty good compensation for the inconvenience....

I know - I look forward to the software update in the new year!  Funny enough they came up with this after I wrote them a letter requesting a 'right to refusal'  so full refund or new bike.

Now that would add another brick in my conspiracy wall.
They know they fail to master their software and of course won't admit to it, unless properly threatened.

What a shame!
