What do you buy the woman who has everything?
« on: December 16, 2018, 04:53:46 PM »
Well if she passes her DAS training - it's obvious ...

One of these.

She's riding like a champ. Looking forward to getting over the water in the summer perhaps.

Got the bike with 1500 miles on it and every option in the brochure added. It's a stunner.

:047: :037: kudos man. and you are lucky to have such a partner in life. there's nothing like having a partner in the same crime! couples who ride together, stay together. many happy and healthy miles to both of you and congrats on the purchase as well.

Cheers. We're actually getting our life back as it were. One offspring has finished Uni and left home the other has gone off to Uni. So we've only ourselves to please now. Riding is something that we can now both enjoy together.

Nice!

My fiance always wanted to learn to ride, and did so, but after 3 motorcycles she has been unable to find one that she both really liked and was low enough for her to ride with confidence.  She does not like cruisers.

So we have a deposit on a 2019 Can-Am Ryker.

I'll have a riding buddy again!
Behold, the MaidenCruiser!

Yes she is.

Well it rides like a dream, but unfortunately, it's showing a few scars. She slid off on a roundabout on the A57 this weekend then it 'just fell over' 3 times this week too. The upper bars look decidedly second hand, but I am glad I fitted them. They've really saved the body work.

:028: Maybe lay off the winter rides for a while? Also, I'd recommend getting rid of the Metzeller trash and putting on a pair of Anakee II's - which will improve her grip on the road tremendously. That compound is magical.

When the Metz bite the dust, we shall be going back to the Continental TKC 70's. I had a set on my gen 1 tex and they transformed the handling. I have to say I don't trust the Metz. I had a very spirited ride today (understatement) but it was totally dry and on very good roads. They were fine, but in anything other than that. I find them quite twitchy and I have had a few slidey moments in corners which on a big bike is quite unnerving.

A little bit of gravel rash adds to the patina of the bike - as long as she is safe thats the main thing. I've never dropped a bike in many many years but managed to drop my Tex1 twice since I owned it- once in the middle of a ford in Yorkshire - my mates just pissed themselves laughing rather than help lol - no harm done - engine bars are great investment  :008:
