Have to say I would have jumped into this a few years back as I used to do a bit off dirt bike riding, but think I might be past it now lol.

Will do. Spent yeaterday converting my quad bike trailer to take the bike. I'm going to trailer it up there so I can take a decent tent and all my kit. I'm not planning to do anything drastic to the bike, but one slip and , well, having a trailer might be a good insuance measure.

Had a practice run with the Missus' lighter 800 first. Then mine. Heck, these are bikg bikes. We're going to tour Germany this Summer so I'll rent a double traier to get us down there, then we'll use a base to ride out from

I'm looking at the Wales one in particular. When I go to the sign-up page it says I have to join RallyMoto to get the sign-up forms, which is £20 per year. Did you have to pay that in addition to the £180 Entry Fee and ACU day licence?

Correct. It's a sort of weekend licence offer rather than paying for full membership to enter other events. It's not very clear so I mailed them. Robert explained it was so it could be run as a closed event; members only for various reasons including insurance and stuff. So, all told the Kielder one cost me £175. That includes camping and nosh, incredibly! Plus the hire of the roadbook twiddly box.
