Quick shifter opinions.
« on: January 25, 2019, 05:59:30 PM »
I'm thinking of adding Triumph's "Easy shift" to my 2018 XRX Low. Is it fun enough to warrant the money? I was going to order on line and install myself. Apparently it needs a software update to function so labor will also be added. Just curious if anyone has any strong opinions on the device.

I know others will disagree, but I don't think its worth it.  One of the features I gained with my XRt, but I still quite often use the clutch.

I look forward to the day when all bikes are automatic -- but you will be able to pay extra to get the Manual Shift Option for the "full motorcycling experience" (as it will undoubtedly be described in some future brochure). Of course, when they are all electric, there won't be any shifting at all...

I absolutely love it on my XRT, use it all the time nice and smooth up or down shifting  :002:

Firm yes, absolutely love it, it is brilliant, get it! It is commended in every bike test and is super smooth, autoblipping on the downshift. I never had it before but won't have another bike without it again. The Triumph implementation is well thought of in the industry and one of the better systems.

I have an XCa, if I had my time again I would go for the XCx with the quick-shifter option (which wasn't an option in Jan 2018).

Love it on my XRT. Not sure, but I have a feeling the aftermarket kit is only up shift. I could be wrong.

From Triumph website.
A race-inspired gear change Easy Shift that allows full and partial throttle up and down shifts without the use of the clutch. Full 'plug and play' installation means no modifications to the motorcycle harness are necessary.
