Just landed
« on: February 06, 2019, 08:12:20 PM »
Hi everyone, just landed. Hope you are all well.
After many years coveting the explorer, I finally got round to buying a 2012 model. I love the bike, looks great and goes great, wife likes it also which is a bonus, but! I gotta say after my first 100 miles the front suspension is - well,, poor. I did own an older tiger 1050 which was a dream to ride and awesome in the corners so expected more from this machine, hopefully I can sort this out - heading over to the suspension threads,, nnnnnnnnow.

:400: from the Netherlands. Your suspension is easy to change with someother progressieve springs, for instance from hyperpro or wp. This will change your bike tremendesly.

Welcome !!
Had an 08 Triumph Tiger 1050 and loved it but found the 2012 Tiger 1200 suspension so much more compliant, more controllable etc - thought it was so much better.
Hope you get it sorted - the 1200 is a great bike.  :001:

I got my suspension fettled at MCT. I'd suggest doing that rather than changing components. However you do need to book him about three months in advance for a ride-in appointment - less if you send in the forks and shock separately.
