Hi everyone just arrived on the forum
« on: February 13, 2019, 11:31:16 AM »
Hi everyone I have just arrived on the forum. I have 12 years riding experience the first 10 on Harley’s and the last 2 on a 2014 Trophy se, before being knocked off early in January this year. So I decided to go for something completely different and bought a 2015/16 explorer. I have had it for 5 days and still love the triple shaft drive engine and am enjoying this new bike. Only real thing I want to change is the screen and go for a touring one, as I have been spoilt by the Trophy’s great screen only issue is which is best to go for. So I’m hoping for some pointers l, Triumph original or aftermarket. I live in Cambridgeshire so am lucky to enjoy the coast roads often. I am currently doing about 10,000 miles a year including my commuting to work.

Welcome. How tall are you? Perhaps try an MRA spoiler so something similar. I installed one on the stock screen and it made a significant improvement.

There are things you sacrifice when you switch from a cruiser. This is one of them. I think at 5'9", you will have the same degree of buffeting regardless of your screen. It's a function of the shape of the bike.

:400: aboard Simsar. I saw a post from Batzen just yesterday. It's the first time I've seen him on here for well over a year. You can try to PM him... :821:

I'm a shade over 6' and I have a Powerbronze touring screen. I've mine up to 120mph + on the autobahn and I don't suffer from any buffeting whatsoever.  I wear a Shoei Neotec 1 and we can comfortably chat through our comms all day long at those speeds.

Thanks for that what the quality like of the Powerbronze. It’s seems a good price £98 for a light tint. I have a habit of always going for original manufacturers but as you know they are always more expensive but That doesn’t necessarily means it’s the best.
