I have travelled most of Mainland Europe on bikes many and varied. Much of the UK on various bikes also. My trips to Europe and the UK are ongoing.  Otherwise some single trips as follows:-

Trip to Sicily via France and Italy on a Honda CB750F1

Norway Sweden and Finland on a Kawasaki Z1000ST crossing via ferry from the UK.

Greece via France Switzerland Austria and Jugoslavia (when it existed) on a Kawasaki Z1300.

Israel via similar route to Greece and ferry to Haifa on Z1300 again. Return route included ferry from Greece to Italy and again back through France.

Spain north to south coast and back via France on a Z1300

France has obviously been much used given the various ferry crossings from Ireland but it is possible to vary the routes through that large country greatly and there is hardly a corner of it that I havent visited at some point.  All of the trips (except the very first) were two up just travelling with my Wife and have been ongoing since 1976.

I have more or less travelled most of western Europe with my GSX1400 ;

Germany : every year , we start every year in April / May with a tour to the Eiffel Region (Koblenz - Nurnburgring) , that is only +-260km away. It is a good warm up for the season.
France : very often , the Vosges is not to far , we descend the river Maas (La Meuse). We have done almost every departement , but mostly the Ardeche / Tarne / Gard / (Haute) Savoie) / Alpes amd Pyrenees

2010 : France - Switserland - Italia (Tuscany)
2011 : France / England - Scotland
2012 : France / Gemany - Austria - Italy - Slovenia - Croatia / England - Scotland
2013 : France - Corsica / England - Wales
2014 : Germany - Austria - Slovenia - Italy / France
2015 : France - Corsica / England - Isle of Man - Ireland - France
2016 : Germany - Austria - Italy - Switserland - France / France - Spain (les Pyrenees) (going from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean)
2017 : Germay - Austria - Switserland - Italy - France (Tour of the Alps) / Germay - Sweden - Norway - Denmark - Germany
2018 : France - Spain - Sardinia - Italy - France
2019 : Planning Germany - Poland - Lithuania - Latvia - Estonia - Rusland - Finland - Germany

I have also done (as far as you can do a complete country ...)

Vietnam : north to south on a Russian Minsk 125cc
Peru : Honda 400
Nepal : Royal Enfield 500
New Zealand : Suzuki GSX600
South Africa : BMW GS700
India : Royal Enfield 500

As far as nice driving roads and distances , I think we are spoiled here in Western Europe  :002:

2017 I did France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, FYROM, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. That was a 17 day tour on my own to visit some friends in Bulgaria and FYROM. I've visited many of those before on other bikes, but other than that I think it's only the countries of the UK, and the Republic of Ireland.

In my case, it is a short list.

USA
Canada

But it covers a lot of riding.  "We" have been through 27 states, some several times, and 3 provinces in three riding seasons.  (I've owned my Explorer for four riding seasons, but got bogged down with work last year and didn't take a multi-day ride.  First time in years I missed one.)

My goal is to visit 49 states, and as many provinces as I can collect along the way, on this bike.  (I've tried and  tried, but I can't think up an effective way to ride my Explorer to Hawaii.  Perhaps wise members of this forum can assist with that?)

I've made one trip with a friend, the rest is solo riding.

I plan to pick up 3-4 more states this year.

I'll be retiring at the end of 2019,  and am planning a Four Corners Ride in 2020.  That should finish the job.

I am based in Canada, so have covered much of British Columbia and Ontario. I have covered a fair bit of the US from the Canadian border south to the Mexican border and from the west coast (Seattle) to east coast (Cape Cod). Much of this travel was on my trust ST1300, but also includes an R1100R, a V-strom and my current TEX.

In May, I will be touring in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia for three weeks on an R1200 GS for a total of a little more than 3000 miles. Looking forward to it.  :001: :001: :001:
