I’m trying to use google maps on my iPhone to navigate roads on a google map that I have created but when I try and use it on the phone it goes dark and powers out as its not turn by turn live . Anyone else solved this ?

Probably an Apple iPhone OS vs. Android issue.

Google maps will only stay on on an iPhone if you "start" the navigation which then engages turn by turn mode.

Then it does behave similarly on Android devices.
