« on: March 01, 2019, 03:53:31 PM »
apologises now for might seem a silly question but anyway; i have a 15 Plate XC and i'm on the look out for a slip on exhaust. A lot of the adverts state for a Gen 1 or Gen 2 Explorers, could someone please tell me which generation my bike is?

If it has the single clock module in the middle with tacho on the right its a First Gen
If it has a module with 3 sections and the tacho in the middle its a 2nd.
If it has a TFT screen its a 3rd Gen

2015 likely to be a 1st.
Use your vin number if buying from a dealer to get the right exhaust

Question has been asked a lot on this forum, here is a link with additional information:

But I've never seen it covered as succinctly as mjab's reply.  Well done!  (Maybe we should make that a sticky?)

The Gen 2. Tacho is also fitted to the basis model Gen 3.
