How are you mounting your phone?
« on: March 18, 2019, 04:59:10 PM »
As a lot of you know I have the Tiger 1200 XCA as of Saturday...LOVING THE BIKE!!!! I am AMAZED at how easy it is to ride, how well it handles! It feels soooo much lighter than my Trophy (RIP) felt!

I am getting my accessories put on Saturday

Regarding phone mounts (RAM Mount), what are you using on your bike? How do you have it mounted? I would like something as low-profile as possible so curious to see how you have yours mounted.

Has anyone here added the 2" Rox bar risers? Is the additional 2" height an issue?

Are you using the wrap for your handlebars that allow you to store small items? If so, which one and where did you get it?

Thanks!

2" Rox are a very popular with lots of us, especially those without long arms that allows us to walk without dragging our knuckles on the floor  :164:
There's only just enough slack in the cables & hoses so you just have to be careful how you re-route them.
I keep my phone in my pocket - I only use it for calls & have bluetooth with voice commands to my helmet intercom

I have the Zumo 950LM for GPS and music (have mp3s in there) and I connect my Galaxy S9 to Zumo for phone, music and city GPS. inside the city Waze is the best for alternate routing and avoiding the stuff distracted idiots behind the wheels cause every day. Out in the mountains where there's no reception, nothing beats Zumo; and when there's no data connection there's no Pandora and nothing beats a good old 64GB of mp3 on a micro-sd card in the Zumo.

Phone stays to the right on a RAM with an X-grip. My phone has a case so I don't have to worry about it slipping and sliding out of the x-grip. I never rely on my phone for long distance GPS or any other needs - I don't like routing I simply want my GPS to show me the plotted course on the map and let me decide what to do with it.

I’ve been using Rokform cases and mounts for all of my phones and vehicles for years. They work flawlessly!

I keep my phone in my pocket but I do have a bar mount for my Garmin.  If you search for Rox or my name you will find a thread where I show pictures of putting on the mounts.  The only thing I had to do was take the clutch cable out of the wire holder at the front of the steering stem.

I use a ram mount for my phone with a medium size X-Grip. I also have 2" Rox risers. They fit my 6'4" frame well.

Try:

"Quadlock"

I've used it for years. Simple and reliable.

Mine is screwed to a RAM mount.
