I need OCD
« on: April 14, 2019, 05:46:10 PM »
I rode the bike yesterday in 5 degrees of spring weather, hale, wind, rain and believe it or not some sunshine - I now realise I need Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)  to clean this type of bike! AHHHHHHH!  :138:

Two thoughts. One, don't use a pressure washer on these bikes. It will push dirt into the front wheel bearings and other places. The second is, it's an ADV bike! If your ADV bike is too clean, you look like a poser!  :038:

I agree and disagree - for sure if you get a pressure washer too close it can cause problems, as you say with bearings, I do agree - but I tend to use mine on the softest setting and about 18" away from the bike - never had any issues with bearings or otherwise doing that in all honesty. IMO it's a case of using it sensibly and following manufacturers recommendations. Although I'll admit that I only use the pressure washer when mine is really minging

Rain is the perfect bike washing device:
- Free
- Low pressure
- Self applying
- Zero emission

I've been using it since day 1 (2001) and never regreted it ;-)
