"Seat Concepts" seat cover
« on: May 18, 2019, 09:29:44 PM »
Has anyone tried one of these
https://seatconcepts.com/collections/triumph/products/triumph-2016-tiger-explorer-1200

I'm looking for additional padding to the rear and outside edge.  This sounds good....

Thanks
Ray

Interesting - I've never heard of them before. I use sheepskin for longer rides for added comfort and "ventilation"  :164: :007: :821:

After checking out that link it looks like they are selling the seat as is shown and not just the cover. It does look good especially that they do five heights - low, standard, intermediate-1/2" higher and the high at 1" higher and tallest at 2" higher. Seems a good price as well. That's if I'm reading it correctly.

I have two of them.  It's a kit that goes on your stock base, nice quality and helps with comfort.  It's not perfect mind you, but it's better than the stock or comfort Triumph versions IMHO.  If you have a heated seat you will loose that option.

I have one sitting in my garage if anyone's interested.  My 2018 is slightly more comfortable so I've stayed with that, still have one on my 2014 stored in Germany.

Shoot me a PM with your asking price please.  I have (2) OEM seats and the Russell I've used the past couple years.  I love the Russell and would never make a trip without it installed but I'd like to have another option for local riding as I'd like to preserve the Russell for as long as possible.  The stocker is just miserable after having been on the Russell for so long.
Ride safe, and ride often!

I've installed two of these for a friend, one on a DR650 and the other on an R1200 RT. Both worked out quite well. It is helpful to have an air stapler and stainless staples for the installation. Also 3M aerosol spray foam adhesive.

The only caveat is that they don't support heated seats. We spent hours peeling the heating element off his old seat and gluing it to the new one.
