New camera mount and position
« on: May 19, 2019, 02:18:08 AM »
Thanks to the new and improved plastic bits and pieces of the 2018 TEX my old camera position is no longer a viable option. So I had to improvise  :169:

Item One:

Dirt cheap, machined aluminium and with a bit of tweaking became a perfect mount surface on the upper crash bar

and the results are in:

I love it. It's stable, framing is nice, I love seeing the front going in and out. Good perspective... Garmin Virb Elite is awesome. I can start / stop and take pictures right from my Garmin Zumo and I can charge & record at the same time - so never a battery replacement! and it's waterproof from the getgo, no extra cases! GPS included!  :082:

Nice work Icy.

I do wonder how long it will take bike manufacturers to realize so many riders use cameras it might be worthwhile providing mounts (& cameras too?) as OEM or accessories?

Neat positioning, I like it.  :028:

My mounts are on the top of the left foglight, topbox facing rear, and helmet. Foglight position is my favourite though.
