Devon Get Away
« on: June 02, 2019, 08:27:11 AM »
Hi Everyone

Would anyone be interested if i arrange a full weekend tour of my home county devon.     I been riding it for years I know all the best roads and locations.

I currently writing a motorcycle travel book having extensively travelled on a bike for the last 20 years.   I would like to try running a weekend, see how it go's and see where it leads.   Maybe i could set up a touring business if a few went well.

I would find accommodation, try to get discount for group bookings,  plan the routes etc.   All you need to do is turn up with some cash i guess.

How many people would seriously be interested in this ??????

Hi Spunge, best of luck with your new venture. I think a broader forum might be a better bet for you as the T12/Explorer is quite a niche bike in the grand scheme of things, you're trying to draw from a small pool to start with. For a big capable tourer is Devon a bit limited? What about something more like West Country Tours?

Ohh its just something small to start with.   Just a bit of fun.

Even 3 bikers would be a start.   Im sure there could be 3 Explorer riders somewhere in the country who might like to experience riding Devon with a local guide.

Depending on dates I would love to come down for a meet.
Good luck with yours as I had little interest.

I could have a great ride down there and some lovely roads around Devon as I was  down a few years back.

Good luck if you start a venture  :028:

Sounds good, When and what's your ball park figure cost wise?
I am more a camping type explorer but will follow this closely.

Devon is a great county - been on holiday a few times - would be interested but dates are critical as usual with me
