Tyre Pressure Warning Light
« on: June 12, 2019, 09:24:50 PM »
Long story and I'll nt bore everyone but I replaced the rear TPMS with a standard valve. I now have a constant red warning light on the dashboard. I have DealerTool but there is no option to switch system off - any other options other than going to main dealer ??
Cheers

I think that the dealer will have to disable the TPMS system.

Thanks Captain - yes thats what I'm fearing. THE TPMS has always been a bit flaky - going off over humps - replacing batteries - the final straw was the replacement price when the tyre fitter damaged it when changing tyre - I can manage without it

Depends which version on Dealertool you have. The latest one allows you to remove TPMS from the instruments menu which should be what you need. It doesn't disable TPMS altogether  though, but that's not usually a problem.

A little piece of black electrical tape springs to mind as a temporary fix  :005:

Fantastic bit of advice - thanks very much.
I contacted Dealertool by email - and they sent me a link to upgrade my existing program - took about 2 minutes. Connected it to the bike and switched the TPMS off - very very happy and saved some dosh !! I've no connection with DealerTool but would definitely recommend the product !!

Easy! Just Google DealerTool and you'll find it: https://dealertoolcouk.ipage.com/default.htm

Sorry - did nt mean to be ignorant in not replying- been off to Europe on the Tex - performed perfectly for another 2500 miles round the Alps !
As Will has kindly given the Dealer Tool details no need for me to repeat but  its a great piece of software for £60 or so and saved me a fortune !  :002:
