Auxiliary Fuel Tank on Tiger XRt
« on: July 03, 2019, 12:38:36 PM »
Has anyone mounted an Auxiliary Fuel Tank on a 1200 XRt?  If so would you please share your source for the tank and the mounting process you selected for the install?  I would prefer to install a gravity feed system.  Thanks all......

Sorry this doesn't help you but it's relevant.

Strangely enough after a years ownership I received an email from Triumph today to do a short survey.

One of the questions was would I like to see the bike with a higher fuel capacity.

I've said no on the grounds that for me (and others) the center of gravity is too high.

l looked into having a gallon and a half square aluminum tank made for the rear rack. it would have gravity fed to the drain on the rear of the gas tank, but the cost was a bit much, three hundred. carry a roto pack for emergency use.

John Young found a solution.......custom made 27 litre tank AND a 16 litre auxiliary tank on the passenger seat. It is so ugly not even it's mother could love it, but JY didn't care as he needed a vast fuel range for his long distance travels.

Roto pack for me too. I carry it strapped inside the SW Motech side bag frame.

Not seen one for the Tex, but I've seen this one fitted to a Honda AT.
