corrosion on rear wheel mounting surface
« on: July 16, 2019, 04:44:43 PM »
has anyone else seen this? pulled rear wheel to change out the tire and found the rear tire mating surface was corroded. reminds me of when you put an uncoated aluminum surface with steel and add salt water. don't live that close to the beach. bike has 15000 miles on it and primary a road bike.  corrosion is not heavy yet and i plan to put a touch of grease on it during reassembly. :084:

Mine looked very similar so I also grease it when I have the wheel off...I use a waterproof motorcycle grease...seems to be working well so far
