I use the Madstad winglets. They cut out a lot of the air the travels up the front of the fuel tank, striking my shoulders. They also reduce the booming wind noise across the bottom of my helmet.

I have Powerbronze winglets on my Gen1.  They stop buffeting.  I have cut down an ordinary screen for summer use, and it is great for improved airflow.  Doesn't look too bad as long as you don't study too closely, but for 10 minutes with a jigsaw I am quite happy with it.
