Hi all.
« on: September 22, 2019, 10:48:15 AM »
Dave here. Based in Dublin.

I just paid a deposit on a 15 plate XC in Khaki Green and hope to pick it up in the next week or so.

This will be my third Triumph. My first was a red 1999 Sprint 955i in about 2002 that I kept for a year. My second Triumph was my previous bike, an 11 plate Tiger 1050 that I had for almost 3 years and I clocked up almost 30k miles on that.

I'll be spoiled with not having to clean and maintain a manky chain every week!!!

I'll stick up a pic when I get it.

Cheers :031:
Dave

Cheers for the warm welcome.

Judging by the bikes you have,  and if you are owner no 1 and no 11 of the D12, I believe I am a subscriber to your YouTube channel!!   :028:

Cheers Tiger Lad  :031:

The 1050 forum was a wealth of knowledge  and I'd imagine here is the same. Can't wait to get the TEx. I'm riding around on a 99 bandit 600 at the mo.... demoralising but a lot better than walking, public transport or trying to commute in a car into the city centre.

Hi Dave -loved my 1050 Tiger - apart from the chain cleaning bit !!! Think you will enjoy the 1200 - especially the better suspension over the 1050 - enjoy it ! :002:

Yep, me too. The 1050 is a great and very underrated sports tourer. Now that I'm north of 40, I'm more steering towards tourer than sports 😂😂.

I got a call from the shop to say the bike is ready for collection from midweek onwards. I paid the balance today so that will clear in a day or 2. I've a 'red eye' flight booked for Friday morning and I'm aiming to be on the 1415hrs ferry home from Holyhead  :018:
