Not new, just had a holiday
« on: October 20, 2019, 10:09:03 AM »
Back after a brief fling with a Bmw and a ktm. Had settled with a 1290 super adventure s but it was vibey, uncomfy and very firm for touring. Went for a ride on a 2017 gen 2 tex with 4000 miles and fell in love with triple all over again. Yes I’ll miss my quick shifter and big TFT, yes the ktm is faster but the tex offers so much more. Refinement, comfort, touring suspension, weather protection, less vibey. It feels so much more stable in the bends than my ktm. Good to be back

Welcome back!
Cheers, Ian

Picked it up today. Wow! The semi active suspension is absolutely superb.

Of course, the big TFT and quickshifter can be a regret (well, the iPadish thingy, not that much), but the essential improvements are brakes and TSAS!

Welcome back!

Welcome back to the light.  I spent quite a few years on an FJR including the later version with the electronic suspension.  The WP suspension is light years ahead and makes the Tex/T12 a fantastic tourer.
