2018 Tiger 1200 Arrow exhaust
« on: February 07, 2020, 08:40:39 AM »
I want to remove the baffle from the Arrow exhaust that came on my bike from the factory. Has anybody in here done this? If so, how did you get the baffle/DB Killer out?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi, I've not done it, but this video should explain all.

Good luck, i'd be interested to hear how you get on.

I would look and see if you have a baffle.  I was going to do this and looked down the muffler and I couldn't see anything inside other than the other end of the muffler.  The honeycomb was from one end to the other and no smaller tube inside.  I don't know if I have an oddball machine or if for the US they didn't come with baffles.

I ordered a OE Triumph Arrow exhaust for my ‘15 TEx from World of Triumph in the UK. No baffles.
So ya, check.

Mine is the same.

Here's guy removing the baffle from the Arrow exhaust.

There's also a discussion concerning the process, beginning here: https://advrider.com/f/threads/the-1200-tiger-explorer-mega-thread.731205/page-397

I considered it.  But it doesn't really add much to the volume or tone of the bike, so I left it alone.  Not worth the trouble.  You can hear the Arrow on the Explorer with baffle removed on the thread.

In fact, the guy who posted the video, and who did the surgery, said, "Deeper tone not much louder at all. I thought it would sound like the one in this video but it does NOT."
