Although, if you were to keep your XCX (and why wouldn’t you?!), it’ll lose a great deal less over the next 12 months than any of these 900’s will  :028:

Then, should you want the Full Flavour version back in 12-18 months, the cost to upgrade again will dwarf this cost  :155:

2013 to date: 2013 Tiger 1200 &
2020 to date: 2015 Trophy 1200
And always a Land Rover / Range Rover of some sort 😁

And I would advise a long test ride. I’m not sure the  new engine firing order on the 900 is getting universal praise.

The visordown report doesn't sound convincing. Best value for money would probably be a 2 year old 800 xrt already kitted out.

:0461: I'm disappointed that as always the testers concentrate on the top of the range off-road variants when I'm only interested in a road biased version. But I will definitely have a test ride but expect a better option for me might be a deal on a 800 if they're clearing stock for the new 900. Or change tack and go for a Speed Twin!

The 900 Rally versions also have a seat height 15mm over the T12 (850mm-870mm Vs the T12's 835mm-855mm). Granted it is much lighter but that would push a good few to the GT variant I'm sure. Not saying that is abad thing, just an observation.

Good deals to be had on the 800’s right now.

I find it lacking compared to the 1200 even without luggage and pillion.

Will be interested on opinion on the 900. Contrary to above, I’ve heard good things about the bike and firing order from initial press launch reports.

The initial reviews that I've seen seem predominantly positive. Twin like torquiness down low with triple like reviness up top sounds like a good combination for an adventure bike.
Cheers, Ian

As I said on a previous post, I'd wait until the autumn when there will be luggage deals and other bits on the 900 making it a more worth it buy.
Part ex wont get any better though because they cant shift bikes in the market with a glut of pcp exchanges coming up
