More likely to be a Tiger Sport 1200 to replace the Tiger Sport 1050.

:0461: To compete with BMW XR, KTM SDGT etc

As for Gen 4 Tiger/Explorer.....if they delay too long they risk it being too late if other makes have upgraded again & are already another step ahead in the tech & spec race. By 2022 BMW 1250 will be due a refresh & new KTM SA will be out.

Not that easy. Tranny ratios would be entirely different with shaft drive.

I still feel the new Tiger will be a 1300. I could be wrong but if you look at what BMW did and then the Tiger 900. They could have left the new Tiger 900 an 800 and still make all the changes they did, but they bumped it up and I feel they are going to do the same thing with the Gen4 Tiger we're all talking about.

The engine will be the same as the new speed triple with probably a larger displacement and the cardan

I think that it would be safe to assume, looking at that skinny 21" front wheel, that this will be a lighter, more dirt friendly ADV bike. But then, what do I know?   :745:

I'm scratching my head as to the rational of a 1200cc shaft drive ADV bike with a 21" front wheel in the knowledge that 99% of riders will have no interest in going off road?  :112:    I would be surprised if the 21" stayed.

I anticipate 2 versions =  XC / Rally with 21" spoked wheel for off road bais, and XR / GT with 19" cast wheel for on road.

Very likely, they've done that with the new 900.
