Quick Shifter Removal.
« on: June 01, 2020, 09:43:07 PM »
Evening Gents

Does anyone know if a Triumph quickshifter that I had fitted by the dealer to My Gen 3 XRx can be just disconnected and removed without bringing up any engine warning lights or causing any issues in general?

I've clocked 30k miles in my 2018 Gen 3 so changing it for a 2019 XCa which already has a quickshifter. I don't want to leave it on the bike as it's going back to the finance company and I thought one of you lovely folks might like it. Any Ideas anyone?

have a quick look in the bike setup menu. I thought there was an option to switch the QS functionality on or off. If so try switching that off and disconnecting the electrical connection before totally removing.

I think I've just learned something.
So a Triumph Quickshifter can be fitted retrospectively, on a Xrx, for example .?.

Sure can. I think the XRx and XCx + quick-shifter is the sweet spot for the Gen3.

It can be fitted. I had it added to my XRX Low, but decided against buying a "surplus" unit after reading the notes in A9778508-EN - the accessory doc relating to the quickshifter:

The correct engine calibration must be downloaded to the motorcycle ECM prior to starting the engine. This information can be found on the 'Triumph Online' dealer website.
24. Connect the Triumph Diagnostic Tool and download the correct engine calibration with the TSA enabled to the ECM following the procedure on the 'Triumph Online' dealer website.
25. Fully shut down the motorcycle, then switch the ignition back on.
26. Enable the TSA on the instrument panel, as described in the Service Manual.
27. Ride the motorcycle for 10 seconds in each gear. The instruments will display a ’Transmission Warning’ message until the gear positions are adapted.
