I know not what you want but I just connected to the battery.  In the spring, summer, and fall I use it to power my GPS (but I always take it with me when I get off of the bike as it doesn't lock), and in the winter it then powers my heated gloves.

Correct.

Permanent 0V (ground) to the horn and a switched 12V feed from the Chassis ECU when the button is pressed.
