I guess I’m a dunce or something but I can’t reset spanner. I have the recommended obd, device manager says it’s working properly. So with key on, run switch on I am able to connect with ECU of my 2015 Explorer and all looks good. But, strangely, I get Not able to Reset message after I try to reset spanner and maintenance interval, by miles OR date.
And, after reading instructions, I tried to reset spanner on the bike. But, I have no option or way to reset on the bike. I know I must be missing something extremely simple because, I can check throttle bodies, all good, green and balanced. I removed front wheel DTCs (I have a custom leading link installed) so that’s all good, too.
So, what am I screwing up here? I’m sure  it’s something extremely simple and basic. Thanks!

Hi Guys, Ive got the BBfly BF32301 as recommended here and have the Tigertool downloaded ( big thanks to T800XC ) The issue Im having is when I plug in, key on, rocker on, pump on, it tries to connect to ecu, goes through until it throws up

Anyone had this happen and how can I resolve it? Thanks in advance

There is a known issue with V3.3 of TigerTool that may be causing this error message. It's in the miles / km decoding from the CAN-bus.

It's been fixed in V3.4 but it's not out for release yet as I'm also working on V4 which includes sensor monitoring and other diagnostics.

There are several small bug fixes and improvements in V3.4 that I'd like to release because V4.0 will be a little way off yet, but I'm not releasing it until I've sorted the service reset on the Gen4 1200s.

Thanks for the reply, would deleting this version and using an older version solve it for now?

No, but you should be able to ignore it for most functions.

I could send you a V3.4 debug version if really necessary.

So I thought everything was working fine with the TigerTool ECU connection last time I tried it.  But I now have the Wrench icon displayed on the screen long before the 10K service is due (I’m at the 9009 mile mark).  I jumped in to verify what the service interval was set to and found this…  0 Mile Odometer reading on the Instrument tab.  This most certainly seems like the issue because if the ECU (or maybe just TigerTool?) doesn’t know how many miles the bike has on it, how can it tell you when it needs service.

I can change any of the setting and hit “Reset” on this screen, and although it responds as if it is working, the wrench doesn’t disappear.  And the next time I connect, it still retains the original settings before my changes.  I tried drastic changes and nothing saved.

This following image was snipped from the TigerTool user manual and clearly shows a mileage in that spot (but with less other information below it).

Please note I had the ignition on with engine off and also the engine running while connected and the results were the same.

I would immediately jump to the conclusion that ECU communication is really not being made, but it acts like it is because I get the ECU connection window:

I also can see this data under the “Info” tab.

Furthermore, I witnessed the C1682 error when checking the ABS DTC and could Erase it (and witnessed 0 error count) using TigerTool if the bike has rolled far enough (15 ft or so) to make the dash ABS light stop flashing (engine still running).

Any insight as to what I might be doing wrong?  Thanks.
I'm jumping back in time a bit T800XC.  As the quoted text shows, I had a problem earlier because my ODO reading showed "0" miles in the TigerTool (and still does) on my 2018 XRT with TFT.  The last time I reset the service reminder, it worked fine, but it was just under 10K miles at the second oil change.  I just had to replace my battery with 14,250 miles on the clock and once powered back up, my service wrench appeared again.

I thought, no problem, I will just fire up trusty TigerTool and push the date out again like I have done several times.  But this time, I get an error stating "Service Date Reset - Failed!"  I tried changing Date and also Miles with no luck.  My hunch is there is some kind of check in the program that isn't happy now that I broke the 10,000 mi threshold on the bike ODO, but I have no idea what you have in there.

Any ideas or fixes?   I really hate staring at the wrench!  Haha.
