I had a 13 Trophy and a 15 Explorer, the best bikes I have ever owned.  I had to let them go as they were both getting to heavy for me. Old age has its costs.  Traded down to a Bonneville T-120 and a Tiger 800.  Both great bikes, but nothing like the power of the 1215 triple.  My wife will laugh that I am not the only one who had to have both the Trophy and the Explorer.

I’m pleased to hear that I’m not the only one to have one of each!

Sorry you had to part with them. They really do compliment each other so well; I find it funny that I now take the Explorer when I need the light weight and compact bike for a trip to the shops 😆 (it’s all relative!).

Alternatively, it’s great getting caught out in the rain on the Trophy (complete with VStrom touring windscreen) and coming home completely dry 😁

Which one did you have first? Did you have a favourite?

I bought the Trophy in 2014 and the Explorer in 2017.  I traded the Explorer in October 2019 for the Bonneville T-120, I guess I got rid of it first because it broke my leg in May of 2019, a story for another day, no damage to the bike.  I sold the Trophy a few weeks ago and got the Tiger 800.  Having lost 200 pounds on each bike, it is a breeze for me to move them around the garage and in parking spots.  I love the vintage look of the Bonnie but the Tiger is much better on the road.

I really enjoyed both the Trophy and the Explorer, again as we age we have to either adapt or give up, I chose to adapt.
