Fork protector question
on: August 09, 2020, 10:42:53 PM
Would anyone happen to know if the following fork protector...

https://www.triumphnewcastle.co.uk/product/cnc-machined-fork-protectors-2/

...is likely to fit a Gen 1, as it only refers to 2017 onwards bikes?

Are the fork legs that different, or is it typically Triumph in that they no longer refer to accessories once the bike is out of production?
2013 to date: 2013 Tiger 1200 &
2020 to date: 2015 Trophy 1200
And always a Land Rover / Range Rover of some sort 😁

I’m not sure but I don’t remember Triumph offering fork protectors for the Gen 1, so I got R&G ones. Maybe T say they’re for 2017 onwards because 2017 was when they did start making them?

I transferred my R&G’s to my Gen 2, and they still sell the same ones for Gen 3 = so by deduction, the fork design hasn’t been changed = my guess is any fork protector will fit any Explorer/Tiger 1200 (but that is a guess!).

R&G (and some other makes) are cheaper than Triumph!

Thank you.

I currently use R&G on my Gen 1, but I’d been offered and unused set at a favourable price and was trying to (in a roundabout way) work out if these would fit my 2015 Trophy and based on your answer, there’s a good chance that they might 👍

The Gen 1 forks were Kayaba 46mm, Gen 2/3 are White Power 48mm but whether that makes any difference to the fork protectors, seems not by redmerle's post.
