Hello from sunny Wales
on: August 15, 2020, 10:39:40 AM
Hi all,
Just joined this group today, I pick up my new (to me) 16 plate XRT next week. Looking forward to some nice rides out with a few mates after I retire (hopefully not too far away).
Can anyone recommend any must haves for the explorer ? It does come with 3 piece luggage
Thanks
Mike

Hi and  :400: to the family.

Must have accessories totally depend on what kind of a rider you are and what kind of riding you like doing.

Get the SW-Motech upper crash bars would be my first and only "must have accessory" because it will improve your safety immensely. The rest is - well, the sky is the limit with these bikes. There's no end to the  farkle adventure.

Be safe...  :821:

Welcome from Ireland Mike. You're XRT is fairly kitted out already and I can't think of any "must haves" bar what makes it special for you. Maybe a sheepskin seat seeing as where you're from! If you want to kit it out with some extra electrical accessories you might consider Marks Motorcycles switched fused power supply which is a low cost and convinient way of supplying electronically fused power to extras, e.g. heated clothing, Sat Nav etc.

Glad it’s sunny in Wales. If you do get a rainy day ever, have a long trawl through this forum for gizmos and upgrades, there’s so much good advice.
Best addition I ever made? Probably my coolcovers seat cover.

Enjoy!

Welcome mike, i would recommend upper crash bars. if you stop on uneven surface its easy to lose your footing and topple over. dont ask how i know !.

I fitted the HEED ones. Think they were about £150.
