Apparently not all seals are the same, even if the part number is the same.
I’m not sure why or how but some genuine Brembo/Triumph seals don’t suit some calipers = they don't seal adequately. This strikes me as very strange, I can only surmise tolerances or seal lip design have been changed.
Thankfully my dealer has come across it before with Triumphs of a similar date of manufacture, so they know exactly which piston & seal kit does work but are currently having problems sourcing it for my 2016 Gen 2 = Triumph have them on back order until at least 6 Nov!

I would be tempted to inspect the pistons before you splash out on them. You can buy them individually if need be and a full refurb kit (less the pistons) can be had a lot more reasonably, see wemoto for example https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/triumph/tigerexplorerxc/15/picture/brake_caliper_repair_kit_front_twin_-_by_trk

Thanks! I was looking at this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Triumph-Tiger-Explorer-1200-front-brake-caliper-seal-rebuild-kit-set-2012-2013/163250822433

I figured the actual pistons can't be destroyed already.
