Triumph 1200 cruise control vs mud
on: October 28, 2020, 11:43:55 PM
Hey everyone, I sure hope I'm not repeating a thread as I have searched but nothing is touching my issue.
I tend to take my Triumph to places that typically would be questionable for a bike like ours but it pushes through every time. This past weekend I got into some mud and water. By the end of the riding the cruise control light would not come on nor would the cruise control work. In addition I have the wrench symbol on. My guess is that the sensor is dirty? This happened once before and after a week or so (and a few washes) it started working again. Anyone else on the forum have something similar happen to them?

It might be due to a dirty micro switch for the rear brake which is located next to the brake pedal. Check if your brake light is on.

If it is that just clean it up, ease I off the switch and spray some wd40 on it. I had the problem after cleaning my bike.
Wondered why the cruise kept cutting out. Only realised the problem when someone said I was riding the rear brake.
