Upper crash bars

is it a good idea to fit upper crash bars to the bike as there are lower ones fitted already

When I had a big "off" a couple of years back the upper crash bars (Motec) totally saved the bike. Tow truck guy said I could have ridden it home. (Well......somebody could have ridden it home)
